I'm in the same boat as I would like my mom's OnStar to keep working on her Saab.
It would be nice if GM had an option to convert your OnStar to digital as they do with some models. (That's the price of having a unique Saab radio). But then saying this is grounds for a class action lawsuit is like saying Sony is responsible for converting all their old Betamax VCR's to accept DVD-R's. Sure, it's not a matter of safety, but you have to understand that GM can't always predict the future and there are many infrastructure matters that are out of their control.
Conversely, why shouldn't Verizon be held responsible for abandoning analog technology with mobile phones and OnStar?
