Consider attempting to politely and respectfully impeach the credibility of the police officer. This could be in addition to any pleas for mercy that you make.
At the trial, before you introduce your evidence, ask him what the speed limit was. Chances are that he will refer to what he wrote on the ticket and say it was 60. If he does, then you can ask him something like "Are you sure it isn't 65?" If he says he is sure, then show your pictures, etc. and make him loose some credibility. If he says he isn't sure, or acknowledges that it is 65, he has also lost some credibility.
At the appropriate time, suggest if he was wrong about recording the speed limit, he may be wrong about recording your speed. Don't ask him about this, just make a statement abiyut this after the officer has spoken, so he doesn't have an easy opportunity to rebut.
Good luck!
