In part might depend where you are located an how long your looking to go.
Ironwood, MI has 3 resorts very close together so you could sample all on different days. Black Jack, Indian Head, Powder Horn. You might even be able to get some sort of interchangeable ticket deal although I am not sure what sort of things places are doing these days in that regard. The close proximity of 3 decent (midwest) hills makes it a good choice if your going to be spending some time.
In MN there is Lutsen. I have never been there but looks like it might be interesting. However, unless your in MN probably the least accessible and longest travel.
Whole region has had snow it seems. Should be able to find opportunities across region for decent skiing.
In lower Michigan my sib said Boyne was good when there in Jan if your close to that area. Personally I'd check carefully Ironwood and the 3 mentioned resorts if your going to go for any length of time.
