I don't see a Continental ad anymore on TSN but I still see good 'ole Marvin K. Brown banner. They're an old established San Diego Cadillac dealer that went big many years ago with the acquisition of Buick, Olds and GMC. When Kearny Mesa Ford/Sunroad wouldn't take San Diego Saab out of the trailers I guess MKB was awarded the Saab deal to make up for the loss of Oldsmobile around the year 2000. 2002 was the Hummer H2 explosion. Hard to sell $100k H1's yielded to easy to sell $50k H2's. MKB took over a whole new facility for them, since remodeled to Hummer standards. While I was there in 2001 they did the south showroom in the glorious Saab style with the round glass tube offices.

Though I didn't see eye to eye with them at the time I have a tremendous respect for MKB's commitment to customer satisfaction and customer service. There are wonderful folks there everywhere starting with Dave and Jenny at the top and flowing down through the sales managers and Hummer, Cadillac, Buick and GMC sales pros and a special kudos to Al and Scotty the long time used car/Saab managers. Service, parts, office, they're all great folks to work with and good with customers.

That doesn't cover up the mega dealer status, and I could always wish for a little more "Saabness" whatever the heck I mean by that, but MKB has had an excellent well deserved reputation for being a class outfit.

And did I mention they're a sponsor?

Marvin K. Brown Saab
