ECU repair issues....

So I've been at base boost ever since I've owned the car - the BPC valve has always been bad:
BPC = 0.6 from pins 1 to 2, 3.0 from pins 2 to 3 (it still buzzes)
According to BobS' post in the archives, I also tested the readings from the T5 cable going towards the BPC:
voltage (power on) - center pin to grnd = 11.8 V
resistance (power off) on 2M setting: right pin to ground = 0.530
left pin to ground = 1 in all settings
This means, I assume, that there is definitely a dead driver in my ECU? Worse, when I attempted to open the ECU, I successfully removed 5 of the tiny, shallow T8 screws but badly stripped the sixth. Am I safe drilling it?
Finally, I've read about cruise control issues with base boost. My cruise light turns on but it won't set a speed. Is there anyone who's cruise doesn't work that has full boost?
Thanks for the help, sorry for the long post. I'm desperate to have base boost back again.
