I work in big box retail. 40 hours/week as scheduled is strictly adhered. One hour lunch breaks are scheduled. Some days are physically and mentally draining, especially when scheduled hours of coverage is sliced. My area is customer based, meaning they can't wait on themselves(tool rental).
CWilson mentioned shift work. Try working a wacky schedule. 6a-3p on Monday, 10a-7p on Tuesday, 1p-10p on Wednesday, day off on Thursday, 6a-3p on Friday, 1p-10p on Saturday, day off on Sunday. That of course is not the norm, as it changes EVERY week. My days off are are spent sleeping so I can work the next scheduled day. Maybe I'll find the energy to do work around the house, maybe not.
I have a 99T resto project in the garage I haven't worked on since I started this job last year. No time or energy.
