And, when people aren't (able to be) spending money line they used to, the tax revenues will decline, giving the government even less money to actually spend... most likely leading to larger deficits to keep the machine that we/they created running...

Wow, I wish politics wasn't so much a popularity/me me me! contest. If someone actually had the guts to say, "We need to raise taxes to continue doing what we're doing, or reduce government programs/spending," I'd probably vote for them... then again, they'd never make past the primaries.

How is it that we can be promised more (health care, security, etc.) and be told that we'll pay less for it. It's so irresponsible. And we, as Americans, typically don't seem to see the disconnect, because so many of us are doing the same things in our own lives with our own credit system....

$0 in credit card debt, and almost-paid-off college loans. (No car payment, no house payment... I rent right now... saving a down payment to do it the old-fashioned way.)
