9-7x - "bang/clank" at a stop light/intersection Posted by Pete [Email] ![]() ![]() |
posting here since I'm hoping this will get a response before the 9-7 board....
'08 9-7x, with 11,000 miles. In the last 2 - 3 weeks, sporadically (now 4 -5 times), when stopped at an intersection/light, there will be a loudish bang or clank from the back of the car. loud enough that I thought I'd been tapped on the bumper, and a bit of vibration, too.
its really disconcerting when someone else is in the car, too!
car drives wonderfully -- no reason to suspect there is a mechanical problem (e.g., transmission, axle, brakes, etc).
wondering if perhaps the rear air suspension is to blame? could it be over pressuring -- and its releasing?
this is the kind of thing that I don't know how to even describe better to the dealer -- they'd end up on a wild chase!
thanks for the help
Pete
