WinXP file share errors: Norton 2009

I thought that I would share this:
When files are shared from one workstation to another [peer to peer], if Norton NAV2009 is running on the 32 bit WinXP 32 bit system offering the share, file access can lock up for any application and data corruption or loss can occur. This does not happen with NAV2008. An upgrade from NAV2008 --> NAV2009 can cause this. Removing NAV2009 stops the errors and an reinstall back to NAV2008 will not have errors. Workstations can experience kernel level lockups.
More detail: - see the link. 14 pages of fun. It is quite sad how this situation has been allowed to drift with no solution and silence from Norton since Jan 06.
To remove NAV2009:
Uninstall NAV 2009 from Start | Control Panel | Add or remove programs
Reboot
Download and run Norton remover from
ftp://ftp.symantec.com/public/english_us_canada/removal_tools/Norton_Removal_Tool.exe
May need to reboot again
