I do something similar. I take the cover off the battery pack and check the voltage and mark the polarity on each cell. For instance, a 14-cell battery pack puts out around 18vdc, or 1.3 v/cell. If I measure 0 vdc (or shorted when measuring resistance) on a cell, I take my 6v battery charger and reverse the polarity for a few seconds to "wake the battery up", then I charge the individual cell for 10-15 seconds. I only hit the cells that are faulty. It takes longer, but I normally have good results. What the guy on the video didn't tell you is that if one of the cells is "open" internally, then no matter how much current you hit it with, it will not take a charge until that cell is replaced. Also, you can't be killed with low-voltage DC. In telco, we run 1600 amps of -48 VDC. You can touch the bus bars and not be hurt. Just don't drop a piece of metal on them because the heat from the melting metal can get you... Ron
