OT: Archiving digital photos Posted by MI-Roger [Email] (#882) [Profile/Gallery] (more from MI-Roger) on Sun, 9 Aug 2009 13:48:58 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I need to offload/back-up our digital photo colleciton. Our machine has writeable CD and DVD drives.
What format is best for archiving photos? I have heard there can be a problem with the dyes used in writeable disks changing color over years of time, thus loosing the digital coding.
I noticed today that Maxwell offers CD's in green and red packaging, labeled for digital data and photos (green) versus digital music (red). Marketing hocus-pocus or is there a real difference?
Thanks.
