couldn't sleep last night and ended up watching the history channel program voyages which featured the history of Saab. very interesting in that it always seemed Saab was on the edge financially. the production and development of the cars though is really fascinating and how forward thinking the cars always were. made me proud to own one. the most telling part though, was the late eighties when Saab went looking for a partner or again they would go out of business. they of course found gm. as much as we all like to talk about how gm ruined Saab it is apparent at least from this show, that Saab would not have made it out of the 90's without them. there is one scene towards the end where they show two Saabs crashing head on while the narration talks about the merging of Saab and gm in hindsight very prophetic. the show is very much worth watching out for.
