Clearly it's not meant to be based on any kind of facts. A few years ago, before I became more interested in cars, I actually would have picked answers very similar to the ones they showed. Those are the basic beliefs held by the general non-expert population, who aren't very familiar with brands like Saab, Porsche, Lotus, etc.
The more thought I put into each choice, the more likely I felt I'd be "wrong." Few people in the US realize that a diesel car can be much more fuel-efficient than a hybrid, for example.
I had to chuckle when I Googled to see who was behind this. A new announcement may change some people's minds, but the best car? Seems like a bit of a stretch.
