I know that Havoline and Zerex make "GM Dex-cool Approved" coolants. As long as the Prestone product states "GM Dex-cool Approved" then there should be no issue. The "GM Dex-cool Approved" statement requires a license from GM and proof that the product meets GM Dex-cool performance standards.
I just had the brake fluid and Dex-cool coolant flushed on my 2005 9-3 Aero CVT. It was a bit funny (actually pathetic) as the dealer insisted that the they never bothered to flush the Dex-cool coolant as it was good for 100,000-miles or the brake fluid on SAABs. I pointed out to the dealer that Dex-cool coolant is good for 5-years or 100,000-miles and SAAB owners maintenance manual recommends brake fluid be flushed every 4-years regards of mileage.
Makes you wonder if the dealers are part of the Dex-cool issue themselves.
