DER- Sounds like we are in very similar boats....unfortunately, they've been launched from the Titanic. Our first SAAB was a Typ 96 3-cylinder in 1972, and we've always had at least one SAAB in the garage since then. We lost our "mom & pop" SAAB dealership when Gibson Motors in Perrysville, IN (56 miles) closed in 2000. We then went with Uftring SAAB in Washington IL (82 miles). Since then, we're on our third 9-5 wagon.
Got a very nice phone call from Uftring last week, stating that the party was over, they've been terminated, and they wouldn't be doing warranty work after the 25th of this month. They lost Oldsmobile several years ago, now SAAB, which leaves them with Chevy....so, I suppose, things are tough all over.
Our '04 SportWagon has 75K on it, and the CPO warranty expires next May, so I suppose we're not in terrible shape, have some time to make a decision. Given everything I've seen so far, though, I can't be optimistic. I believe that our next car will be something other than a SAAB, although I haven't a clue what that will be.
As far as your situation- bad as it is, I don't think it's anyone's intention that you be "-destroyed as a customer." One of the few things I've heard in recent years on TV that is memorable goes "People don't get what they deserve, they get what they get."
