Yeah, but Citroen, Peugeot, MG, Alfa Romeo, Fiat, and Renault are all still alive. :)
Fiat is coming back to the US in 2010, and news is that Alfa Romeo (my other favorite marque next to SAAB) will follow. With Renault owning a large chunk of Nissan, they may come back too. Can't count out the PSA Peugeot-Citroen group either.
Just saying. :)
Agree with your point though, we will survive. When I'm finally forced to replace my current SAAB, I will replace it with another SAAB, and I will continue to take it to one of the best mechanics in North America (Anders). To hell with GM. :)
However, what burns me is how GM abused this little company and the city of Trollhattan. GM, after the mercy they were shown, could have shown the same for SAAB. Really, they could have, and especially during the holidays. They just enforce everyone's opinion of this lousy corporation. I will not even rent a Buick/Chevy/Cadillac/GMC going forward...
