We just got back from a week at the beach in FL. Long drive back to SC last night, but I can drive all day - I actually enjoy driving my aero wagon so much that it's monotonous, but fun. The vast sea of generic cars and SUVs that travel side by side with you is a big part of the boredom! I was thinking about what else I could possibly ever buy if I needed a little more traveling room. I actually have this strange compulsion for driving things that are a little different/weird, so my other passion besides my SAABs is my '90 Vanagon Carat. The problem with that is getting out on the interstate for any length of time means sticking primarily to the right lane since my top speed in that is about 73mph. It's a great cruiser though, and there is a slick Subaru 6 cyl turbo waterboxer transplant kit($$$)that fits nicely under the rear hatch that i might consider someday. I saw only one other 9-5 the whole trip, and one other Vanagon camper going the opposite direction. I'm having a great time marching to the beat of my own drum - let come what may with the GM debacle, I think I'll be driving SAABs for a very long time to come.
