....No comments/opinion yet on SaabUnited.com. Steve Wade (Swade) must be asleep at the helm.

In my view that was the most unprofessional response I have ever heard from a head of a company. Okay GM said January 7 was the final deadline. Why didn't they (GM) wait until Friday and have an official press release. At least say formally the last Spyker bid was refused due to the EIB loan (or something) and the wind down will continue. Why wasn't it a money issue in the past. There were 11 points of contention according to V Muller at Spyker that he resolved in the last bid.

I think GM has been playing us SAAB fans all along coming up with excuses constantly. V Muller's bid must have been so good the only response they had was a comedy.

Okay, give us the money and we will sell. So what is the company worth beyond current supply of parts, offices, equipment, land and current payroll expenses until the owner ship transfers.
I'm not talking about the royalties for selling the future new 9-5 / 9-4X brand and supplying future parts and assembly to make the cars. 1) The name SAAB or the franchise is worthless to GM. 2) The factory in Trollhattan Sweden is worthless outside of the cost of the equipment/land. 3) Intellectual property can be managed with contracts- can't it, and/or be paid with future royalties. 4) And the price of GM should be SAAB minus the profit from selling the old equipment/9-5 technology to BAIC.

Okay, if this is all over -what if BAIC sold back the old technology to Spyker Cars and V. Muller went forward with the development of the new 9-3SS. 1. Go back to the original SAAB names like 95 96 etc . 2. Call it Spyker Autombile (SAaB). 3. Develop a hatchback and a SC off the 9-3SS platform or redevelop the old 9-5 platform. 4. Create a new niche company. Then start on working on building a new factory. Hire all the employees etc. I know this is obviously far fetched but there has to be some resolution to our need for a Swedish brand. GM isn't the answer. They're in our way.

Let me ask - Is it really the name SAAB that we are so attached to or is it the concept of the car from SAAB.

Sorry for ranting on.
