The article is unfortunately hard to take seriously. On one hand, how does John Cace state with a straight face the negative tone in regard to SAAB automobiles and also claim to have been an owner of various SAABs for over 10 years. If he was continually "misled" by their advertising, then where does the fault lie. Over here in the states, we have a saying, "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me." If he has been fooled several times, then what amount of his shame is his? As for his contentions that SAAB has only been an innovator regarding seat belts, turbos and a push button start/stop switch, he is absolutely off-base. SAABshave been consistently among the top rated cars on the planet in both US and European safety tests. SAAB has never tried to compete with BMW and Merc (sic), at least in the US where BMW and Mercedes-Benz are both quite upscale.
