Ressurecting an old BMW

So, I'm hoping some of you folks can help me out here on this issue.
A good friend is getting her mom's old 1986 BMW 325es. It seems it needs a new battery, starter, an oil change and the timing belt. All of those are things I can probably do on it, however, I don't know where the starter is located, nor how much oil it needs. I've already looked around for BMW specific forums, but the ones I've found all require you to be a member to post anything, so no luck yet with those. If someone can point me in the direction of a BMW forum that you don't have to be a member, then that would be great. All help is appreciated.
