I know you don't want to get into a discussion as to which is better, but have you had any alone-time with Windows 7 yet? It is absolutely amazing, in my opinion. I've grown up with Windows and my grandfather recently got a beautiful 24" iMac and I really hate using it. I'm sure if it were mine and I used it for a couple weeks I would get used to it but I feel much more at home with Windows and W7 has brought some amazing new functionality to Windows.
Macbooks have very nice build quality and you can run Windows on them, but if it were me shopping I'd be looking pretty closely at a Dell Studio XPS 13.
