Saab news WSJ yesterday ...

Yesterday's Wall St. carried a story documenting loans from the EIB and guarantees from the Swedish govt. My local dealer has had some communication within GM and / or Saab, and is optimistic, I am told. However, the WSJ article said Koenigsegg intends to establish Saab as an niche manufacturer, perhaps producing 100,000 units annually.
Assuming the information is accurate, I find that disconcerting: Aside from the issues related to volume, oost, and profitability, there's the question of distribution. How many dealers will want to invest in the space and product support necessary for a handful of cars per year. And if the current distribution channel weakens or is displaced as a result, what confidence does the Saab owner have in a reliable network across the country?
Mike Lynch, can / will dealers -- either current or new -- be willing to buy into this business model? Could we have a Saab dealer network that looks sort of like Porsche?
I am getting too old to find entertainment in a car problem en route to Florida, only to find out my nearest authorized dealer is in New Jersey.
