Just blowing some steam off here, but is there any shadier profession that this? My two most recent interactions make me wonder. I found a part using that part finding site, contacted the recycler via the e-mail provided, and was given a quote of $150. I wasn't able to complete the transaction via e-mail because they have no method of accepting payment online. So I call them up, and the price is now $200. I explained that I already got a quote of $150, which they say must have been a mistake. Hmm. The other recent event, with a different place went more or less the same way except the price of $10 is stated right on their website. This place doesn't even respond to e-mails, so I call them to try to order the part. Lo and behold, the price is now $150! I know mistakes can be made, but all these "mistakes" seem pretty fishy to me. It seems pretty likely that they are intentionally under-quoting the price in a forum where you can't complete the transaction with the intention of increasing it when you do reach a forum where the transaction can take place. Is there such a thing as an honest auto-wrecker? It's a pretty sad state of affairs when I'm forced to resort to ebay, of all places, to find more reputable sellers.
