This is a topic that was visited about 2 1/2 years ago. I'm curious to know if there have been any new posters on here who have knowledge in this area, or if the original poster has any successes or otherwise to report on.
Looking at a house that has significant cat urine problem. Cats are gone, as are the offending floor coverings, for the most part. There is staining through to the plywood subfloor, but not through the subfloor. I was able to inspect from the basement, and there staining does not go through. The plywood itself is solid and not rotted, and floor joists are untouched an dperfect. Wasn't able to inspect walls, but no evidence of significant spray on walls - so studs should be good. If I can be satisfied that the smell CAN be removed permanently, my intent would be to remove every piece of drywall and plywood subfloor, get the place fumigated in some way (I've heard other good things about the ozone route that is mentioned by Erik in the original post), and put in new plywood subfloor and new drywall. What are the thoughts from the gurus on here?! Thanks!
