I had never heard the word Hydronic heating before so I had to Google it but as it sounds to me it is only a way to transfer the heat media in throughout the house.
So the way I read into it is the way, I would say, 70-80% of the houses in Sweden is heated using hot water circulated through radiators mounted on the walls or as in newer houses embedded under the floor tiles in one or another way through a loop of hoses.
Maybe Hydronic word is used in several application?
As far as modern ways to heat houses in Sweden now is use of ground heat, geothermal heat, air to air or lake heat (if you own a lake).
We just installed the geothermal system in our house in Sweden. I don't think it is the right word to use though since you are not really using the heat coming from the Magma chambers deep down but use the heat in the bedrock that the sun have heated up.
We drilled 600' and ran two hoses down with a brine solution and connected it to a 10.5 kW CTC ecoheat heat pump and then the heat pump is hooked up to the water carrying pipes and radiators that was already there from the old wood fired furnace.
So far it seems to be working well. My tenant told me today that they have about -15 -20°C right now and it keeps the heat inside without giving them frost bites.
So how does this system you mention work?
