possible. The troubles of Saab have been tossed around for discussion at great lengths and I have read MOST posts if not all. It's not encouraging but I am certain we all understand the nuances of business, economics and capitalism.
Monetary infusions are necessary to keep an ideal alive and thriving resulting in ownership changes and the constant tweaking of vision statements committing to retain the once proud tradition of said brand.
Hence the partnerships of major automakers worldwide; buying in or selling out in order keep their product relevant, viable, and appealing. The bottom line in the Automotive industry is SALES. If consumer confidence has been lost in the product, then the natural progression would be to capitalize on the value of the patented processes and technical acumen utilized to make that product highly desirable.
IMHO the Saab brand will continue on many levels and remain profitable for someone in some capacity whether it's as simple as re-badging or loaning proprietary engineering data to its stable of owners, partners and their related products.
As long as the resources and parts are available in a reasonable and cost effective manner... Regardless of the type of Saab you own, I say SAAB ON...
Besides, I also own a Renault Alliance GTA Convertible. Personally Don't think the U.S. market for Saab will ever go the way of the French!
