Only choices that would work are Diesel and electric... Or did everyone forget about the requirement for a little thing called GASOLINE.
Electric could work off of any solar, wind or crank generator. Electtric however would be destroyed by EMP.
Diesel will work off of any oil, including animal fat, and older mechanical injection types are immune to EMP.
Diesel will also work off of up to 80% home-brew Ethanol.
Gasoline engines will not work off of Ethanol without major changes to injectors or carbs.
That is why my Diesel 1981 Lancruiser, or a Diesel Land Rover would be my choices.
Just my humble 0.02
BTW, the end of the World came already in May, or don't you read the papers? LOL
