Local garages already have access... Posted by Chadwick [Email] (#569) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Chadwick) on Sat, 3 Sep 2011 06:23:11 In Reply to: Re: Business proposition. If you have the funds and do enough SAAB volume, a Tech 2 is easy to acquire. However, ensuring it is a genuine one these days is not so easy. Just check that auction site for one... about 90% of those are chinese knock-offs.
And that business does exist. SAAB Services of South Florida rents theirs. It is quite expensive, however. He requires a 2,000 down-payment and charges 90 a day, then refunds the 2,000 when the tool is received.
Getting the tool is the easy part I suppose, learning all of its functions and how to use it is the more difficult part. Also, you need security access and a CANdi module to work on any 9-3SS, something that is web and subscription based.
