Bought one when I was single. Worked great for 10-12 years.

Bought another when we moved to this house 16 years ago and it ran great with frequent use for about 10 years. Got another and it's still fine. Needs something fixed on it now, but other than a couple of belts, that's all we've ever needed.

The local vacuum repair shop says Kenmores are pretty solid machines. He services everything and says most vacs tend to last about 2-3 years before needing repair and some can be expensive to fix. He says Dysons are great when they're new but really don't hold up all that well.
