In need of real serious advice

I am posting on General to get a lot of advice.
I bought a 2004 93 CV in 2008. It was certified and the IRIS looked decent. It had 28,000 miles so the original warranty plus the certified warranty were good up to 12/31.10. The dealership and I stayed on top of all problems so the major repairs included new front suspension parts new water and fuel pump new turbo and various other bits. In Dec of 2010,before the warranty was up, I began to have trans problems with clunking mostly into reverse. The dealer did an update but the problem continued. The warranty was now up and the problem has gotten worse and the dealership closed(sound familiar?) OK at this point both an independent and Saab dealer feel I need a new transmission, probably that valve body issue. There was no contamination of fluids so who knows. All I know is at 62000 I need a new trans. So I can have a Saab dealer do it for around 3500. I owe around 8,000 on the car and the reality is no one wants to buy these cars anymore. The car drives fine except for that double clunking. Do I fix the trans? Let it go and just turn in after the cars paid for. I really need your help making this decision. Thanks for taking the time.
