I always thought the C900 looked OK (had one for 20 years). But to my eye they are not beautiful by any stretch of the imagination, just unique and distinctive. That's not a bad thing. Sort of like the original bodied Porsche 911 before they decided the melted soap bar look was necessary.
The NG900 (have one) looks OK but is hardly gorgeous. Not a whole lot to make it look great. They are too narrow for their height and greenhouse is too small. The hatch made it different, but overall this is a fairly bland design.
The 9000 (have two) is to my eye the best-looking of these, mostly due to better proportions and the large greenhouse. Giorgetto Guigiaro did a fine job, and the mid-cycle re-design worked well. Still, the sides are too flat and the back end is too boxy. There's no clamshell hood. 9Ks don't necessarily stand out except that the shape (from the mid-'80s) with the front/rear overhangs doesn't look modern.
The 9-5 (have a wagon) is a clean design. Again not ideal, but the proportions work well for the most part.
The 9-3SS is one of the nicer designs, but the wagon would be better with a bigger greenhouse, especially the rear quarter windows.
But that's just my subjective opinion.
