Good point Turbostud. I learned how to drive on a 1959 93b my brother and I drove it to high school.....we thrashed that thing!! We put in the area of 100,000 miles on it and it cracked a ring. Popped in a new/used engine. Went another 80,000 and we sold it. We also bought a used 1960 95 and drove that about 70k before selling it.
When I graduated from college my dad gave me a 1966 2stroke that was a dealer demo. I drove it for 5 years and 70,000 before selling it.
That is my experience as owner of 3 2 strokes. They can be reliable. I have the feeling that people have just "heard" they are not reliable.
