Akerman's (Ackerman?) comments last week that the public has forgiven/forgotten the bailout GM received is pure hog wash and illustrates how out of touch executives of large businesses are with the public.
GM is reported to have $40 Billion of cash on hand and needs to figure out a way to make the US Treasury whole on their equity investment in New GM, and to repay the "No Strings Attached" cash they received too.
Only then will people forget. Today's announcement of 7% November sales increase for GM, when Chrysler and VW reported increases greater than 40% for the same period, only serve to repudiate the opinion of GM's CEO.
