There is a contingent of Saabistas who are such purists that they think the only real Saabs are the ones with two-stroke engines.
Saabs are more than the sum of their parts.
I friend used to have a 99. Many years and cars later, he got into my '96 9000. He hadn't driven it 10 miles and he said, "yep, this is a Saab."
Most cars on the road have some common parts sourcing these days, if not the actual part, then the maker of it.
That's cars in a global economy.
