GM got what they wanted from Saab....technology. The same way Ford did from Volvo, BMW did from Land Rover, except the big difference here is that BMW and Ford were at least able to keep both Volvo and Land Rover as going concerns, and sell them intact for the most part.
I'd have to think that Victor has a heck of a lawsuit on his hands with being able to recoup the money they spent for Saab. He should sue the pants of GM. There had to be some clauses in there for performance succession of the business given how much money they paid for Saab.
I'm really disappointed in GM. They took a great brand and ran it into the ground (sort of like they did with Pontiac).
It is ironic that GM didn't want Saab (red-headed stepchild) so they sold it off....and then when somebody was going to make a go of it with the brand (the Chinese) GM blocked the sale or investment because they were "scared".
also find it interesting that China announced sanctions/tariffs on Buicks being sold in China. Good for them.
As an owner of GM, I'm certainly not going to buy any of their products EVER. They don't deserve my business.
