With a properly-functioning coolant system, there is no reason to do this on modern cars, as the others said. They'll warm up just fine. I suppose, though, that if it were extremely cold (sub-zero Fahrenheit) for long periods, it may help some, as most thermostats prefer being open or closed, but not partly open.
The best thing, if you're looking for a quicker warm-up on cold mornings is to install a block heater, and keep the car plugged in.
As for the aerodynamics, the effect would be miniscule on modern cars which have seen many hours in the wind tunnels, and/or the CFD (computational fluid dynamics) computers...
And let's not forget, our Saabs come from the land where it is cold a lot of the year, and very cold for parts of the year! Many places you park, including most employee lots, and even some public places, have 220V outlets to plug in your car over there. Or, the car is equipped with a gas-fueled heater and a timer (later cars with SCC or SID have the timer function built-into those units).
