Ten years ago we bought a bosch washer dryer set + they are still working great. I know people who have LG's + similarly good experiences, but they built their product line by copying Bosch aesthetically + adding gadgetry... I know I'm generalizing, but this seems to be the Korean approach, whether it is appliances, LCD displays, or cars. Hyundai + Kia have paid attention to what Saab (and others) has been doing for a while now + they have managed to put just enough of that together in a package that is actually quite marketable now... these cars are a huge step in appeal compared to the Amanti... but imho, that's still not saying much...
I like how VW's look, but I worry about reliability. They seem to be way down near the bottom of the barrel for that now + even long time VW owning friends of mine agree. They are competing on cost, and like my other post, are going for the lease market. Who cares if it needs a $2000 timing belt job when the lease expires? I do, but most don't... dump it + lease another...
