Double sided tape is what the factory used. If other glue was better I would think they would use it. With double sided tape you can always ever remove the logo later and polish the paint if you want the "dechromed" look.
Car manufacturer go to great lengths now not to drill holes or disturb the paint to put badging on a car. I just can't understand why you would want to do anything that hurst the paint even under the badge.
any break in the paint can result in corrosion in many climates.
