No, I have no interest in a Twin cam. Although a base model MGA equipped with Weber(s) or a blower would be enticing.
There is a MGA in Grand Rapids being advertised as a Twin Cam and offered at Twin Cam prices (apparently their rarity supercedes all their other problems when it comes to demanding a higher price). For some unsuspecting buyer this may apear to be a rarity but this Twin Cam car does NOT have a twin cam engine!
The engine has been replaced with a 1800cc engine from the later MGB model. Installing the B engine in a regular A car does not seem to affect price since the B engine has more power and usually one more gear in the transmission. A B engine in a Twin Cam 'should' reduce the price by a significant amount, almost down to regular A levels, since the car is now a Delux. The Delux models were built with the standard MGA drivetrains but with the left over better suspension and brakes of the Twin Cam after the twin cam went out of production. These are rarer than the Twin Cam but don't command the same price.
