I've sourced some Nylog. There's a youtube video from them that says it should cover the fitting openings when applied...do I understand that right? Or just put a smear onto the O-ring? Do you lubricate the fitting bolts too? Should I put some on the valve stems while the system is being opened or might that gunk up the valves?
Some auto parts places don't carry any pure PAG 46 as what is carried contains additives. I got lucky and found some Supercool. Their PAG oils are all double end capped. Is there any downside to using PAG 46 with UV dye in it?
What's the easiest way to guess at the oil level? If I'm swapping the compressor, do I dump any oil in there, then add some back according to the WIS math. I guess there's no way to really know and the system ends up a little overfilled with oil. Do I need to find a cheap metric measuring cup?
