I did the pixelfix install. When you put foam in the groove to move the o-ring forward, the groove cannot locate the ring properly, it is out of place and the clock display is bogus. I held the o-ring in place with 3/4" wide scotch tape and assembled and problem solved.
The above problem affects the pressure of the ribbon on the circuit board traces.
When putting the ribbon onto the display with scotch tape, I used 1/2" width. Place the tape on the ribbon as per instructions. Position that on the plastic sleeve as it will allow the tape to removed from that pebbly surface. Place ribbon on table with sticky side up and you can see through the glass and alignment is easier. The press display onto tape, turn over and press down tape. If you leave the ribbon a bit short of the display shoulder it will be pulled into that location as pressure of assembly presses the ribbon onto the display.
I used 3/4" tape for the ribbon to circuit board.
