I worked on this Sunday, Monday night, Wednesday night, and Thursday night. Initial problem was no washer in the quick disconnect fittings which came with the new sprayer hose. I found the washer remaining in the package and installed that. With washer installed the problem reduced from spraying water under the sink to steady dripping (almost a continuous stream).
Use of Teflon dope rather than tape, with 8 hours cure time, reduced the continuous fine stream to drips.
More aggressive tightening of the faucet side connection to the quick disconnect reduced the problem further to even less frequent drips.
Last night I went for full elimination of the quick disconnect fitting which totally eliminated the drips. Hooray!
Luckily it only leaked when we were drawing water, and a small bowl judiciously placed in the cabinet under the faucet captured all water until the problem was eliminated with last night's effort.
FWIW - I went to a professional plumbing store yesterday in search of a better hose sprayer. Theirs were all Made In China too, and the hose was even stiffer than the Lowes hose I bought on Sunday, but the Pro Hose had the old style male pipe thread end WITH an adapter to fit the newer faucet sets using a female thread on the sprayer hose. I kept the more flexible Lowes hose as it was significantly easier to install.
