Very doubtful - I sold my Acapulco just last year and it was functioning like new.
Did you plug BOTH wiring harnesses in? One's for the voltage input that lights it up and the other is for speaker outputs. And make sure both are in tight.
If you used the old wiring, then test it with the new speaker harness that came in the box - just hook it up to any speaker you have around the house.
