I miss my 8-track!
One of my fonder memories as a kid in the ‘60s was scanning through the stations on the AM radio in our ‘67 Ford LTD (great car!). Would listen to music on WPRO out of Providence, RI — my kids are horrified that I know the words to most of the old songs! — and was even able to catch out of town ballgames from as far away as Detroit and Baltimore.
Just completed a 6500 mile road trip in a rented Malibu. Noticed two days in that it did not have a CD player. I’m a dinosaur and expected one.
Newer cars have these enormous touch screens that tend to blind me and destroy my night vision while driving. No thanks. Where is my Philco radio when I really need it?
