Off Topic: VOIP as replacement for landline? Posted by MI-Roger [Email] (#882) [Profile/Gallery] (more from MI-Roger) on Sat, 11 Feb 2023 06:52:08 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
We are looking to reduce monthly bills for services not needed. One such item is $52/month for a landline we have had for over 40 years but seldom use. (I ought to make the tekemarketers pay for it!)
Our options include:
▪︎ Complete deactivation. New cost of $0/month
▪︎ Transferring to a cell number on another cell phone. New cost of $8/month plus cost of phone.
▪︎ Transfering to a VOIP service. New cost of $13/month
If we choose VOIP, and I connect the VOIP interface output to a wall jack, will all other home wall jacks continue to have service?
Thanks,
We know the smartest decision is likely the first option, but we have no idea who might have, and still require, our landline number after 40+ years with it being assigned to us.
