In my opinion, Apple correlates with the Saab philosophy the best: intuitive design, innovative thinking, and just what you need without all that crap that you'll probably never use. I've used both Microsoft Windows 98 and Macintosh OS 8.5 extensively, and from my experiences, I would feel safer driving cars designed by the third graders that I tutor than drive a car operated by a Microsoft product (no offense to the third graders, of course). I'm at a very computer oriented school (RPI) and even the people at the computing center can't understand why Microsoft hasn't come out with one "quality" product to date (that's thier opinion, and they know just about everything there is to know about computers).
Sure, the Mac OS is not perfect; hardly anything (if anything at all) is perfect in this world. But, to me, it seems much more reliable and efficient. I would never want any computer to drive for me, but I do think some of the possibilities involving computers and automobiles are interesting.
As always, just my 2 cents!
