I imagine the last true SAAB concept car would be the EV-1 (around 1985).
*No SUV yet (thank GOD).
*Catchy slogans back fire (e.g., "Have you rolled a Ford today").
*Advertising? You have never picked up a Wall Street Journal have you? True there is next to no TV advertising. It would be nice to see a little bit more in this media to educate the SAAB ignorant populous, however, it probably isn't the most effective use of SAAB advertising dollars.
*We could use a sports car. However, I wish they would get the sedans back up to true sport sedan status first.
Never met anyone who hasn't heard of SAABs but I have encountered a number of people who confuse SAABs and Volvos. Also, have encountered a couple of people who think SAABs (at least the 3-door c900s) have a rear engine. Also, people (in the pre v-6 days) who can't believe they don't have at least a v-6 engine. The most incredulous are those who actually rode in my car and later learned it was only a four. Then there are those, even today, who are blown away about the ignition switch. Perhaps SAAB does need to do some more informational based advertising. Then again this general ignorance is part of what makes owning a SAAB so much fun.
