not to start trouble or anything... GM thread --> Posted by modest mouse [Email] (#3510) [Profile/Gallery] (more from modest mouse) on Mon, 2 Apr 2001 10:39:34 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
There's been quite a bit of GM bashing the last year (maybe the last 13 years) and I would just like to chime in like an ignorant Saab owner (for 10 years now)...
GET OVER YOURSELF!!!! you aren't any better than anyone who drives a GM. As a matter of fact, as a Saab owner, *you* drive a GM! and for the love of God, (once again, it's getting old saying this), we *would not* have Saab's here in the U.S. if it weren't for GM.
GM may make some incredibly ridiculous decisions (and some ugly vehicles), but they sure-as-heck made a wise decision to snatch up the failing Saab market in the US.
And we wonder why people label us as Snaab owners. If someone *really* hates GM that much, then they need to sell your Saab.
Not sure why I get so worked up over GM bashers, but I think some people need to worry less about how ugly the Aztec is and how a Saab SUV is going to ruin their life, and get back to talking on their cell phones while driving in the passing lane... Frankly, the idiot is the one on the cellphone, not the person who purchased the GM (although they may be equally as dangerous on the road ;)
No offense to anyone in particular ;) and by the way, GM made my fiancee's 9-3 affordable and as a matter of fact, GM is half the reason we were able to buy our house and feed our cats!
Isn't it a bit odd that we don't slam Dodge or Ford on this board? There is some sort of GM bitterness on this board which doesn't make sense. Why would we bite the hand that feeds us?
Just a side note before I submit, this isn't aimed at any Europeans. They might still have had new Saab's for sale w/out GM buying them up. But, it's very clear that Saab would not exist in the US w/out GM... very clear.
Ok, that's my peace... all responses are well-accepted!
