You are right about Hb technically not being a enzyme...I was trying to think of a protein/enzyme (proteins in this case) that most people would be familar with. If Hb was a true enzyme it would be called Hb...ase. But I think Hb does have some (sort of) catalytic properties in that it increases the rate of O2 up take and relase which does involve a 'chemical reaction' in that weak chemical bonds are formed and broken.
As for saabs and enzymes lets try this for a (tenious) link.
Saabs run on fuel, fuel comes from oil. Oil is a fossil fuel derived from living organisms. Those living organisms used, eat and were broken down by enzymes. Without enzymes we would not have Saabs (or anyone to drive them for that matter!!)
I would imagine enzymes of some sort are also used in a few select production procedures used to manufacture car components. (leather seats??)
Unfortunately supplimenting your diet with enzymes will not improve the performace of your Saab or yourself, and an excess (of protein/enzymes)will clog the fuel system Saabs and the solid waste exhaust system in people :-O
