Agree - it looks like a Saab... I sat in a C230 a few weeks ago at a Gen-Art event in SF. From the outside, it reminded me of a Saab, but I think any attempts at a sporty looking hatchback will always remind me of a Saab. It had cloth seats, which reminds me more of my Saabs than any Mercedes I've ever been in. The price reminded me of a Saab, but there was a lot less space in the C230 than in any Saab I've been in.
I also agree with your statement about the 9-3 and the 900. I've always thought that the 9-3 looked more of a sibling of my 83 900 Turbo than any of the NG900's did. Now that I own a 9-3 and have driven it more than for just a few minutes, the similarities are amazing. All the great stuff from my 83 900 Turbo was brought forward into the 9-3 design, not to mention so much more.
